  It is possible to spend an entire life searching for what one was in a former incarnation. Some individuals may be fortunate enough to find this out, or delude themself into thinking certain thoughts and then subconsciously create circumstances which seem to prove those thoughts to be true.

  For some, it can be too easy to blame failure on past life karma, or to put one's inability to cope with every day life situaitons to chart inadequacies. If it does, astrology is doomed to failure; for its gift to humanity is to help man help himself, rather than give him excuses for why he cannot. Karma exists. It is very real. But, it is not beyond man's ability to deal with and overcome. It is important to realize that the past and future have less to do with man's ability to function and his enjoyment of life than what he does with the "Now."

  Naturally, the past and future have a strong influence over how an individual perceives the "Now" but-- and here is the fascinating point-- they don't have to! There is no question that it is extremely difficult to ignore yesterday and not think about tomorrow. However, with work and discipline, it is possible for a person to do this.

  When he does, it does not mean that the past and future do not exist. They do. That is a reality. But, he neither lingers in what he has already done or failed to do, nor worries about what he has to do. He simply does, acts, and becomes! He has no time to analyze his actions because that means going back to his past again. He has no time to feel insecure, because that means worrying about his future. Instead he has all the time in the world to live his present reality.

  He will be living out his karma, not spending years bemoaning his fate or trying to live the karma of others. He can accept failures and successes, for they are fleeting things which always change. Inter- estingly enough, when he starts living this way, a good deal of what he thought was karma starts dropping off because it was in fact, nothing more than the thoughts he absorbed from others which he thought were his own. When this happens, the individual becomes unbelievably productive and creative..
