  The astrologer studies people, their ways, habits, successes and fail- ures, always observing their actions and reactions. He understands hu- man emotions on the very deepest of levels. And, he is an excellent stu- dent of nature. He watches the sea- sons change and he becomes aware of cyclic activity. He sees the leaves on a tree and learns how they are dependent on the branches from which they grow. He notices that no branch looks exactly like any other. Yet, it is impossible for him to de- cide if one branch is better or worse than another. From this he realizes the individuality and the equality of people.

  If he is truly aware, he can see the connection between man and nature on many levels. For what man seeks his entire life, the trees know. The seasons know. The rain and the snow both know. But man does not know. And, it is the purpose, job and function of the astrologer to be able to tell man in words that he can understand, that he is truly able to achieve the same harmony with nat- ural law that he sees all around him, if he will only look.
