ASTROLOGER VIEW: A New Node Cycle
If anything brings us to realize how much astrology is important,
we have only to look at world events and how they obey the movements of the heavens regardless
of the beliefs, convictions or philosophies that people ascribed to.
In these early years of the new Aquarian Age, it becomes extremely significant to study the
events that occur to see what direction they give us at this crucial time in history. What
is of particular interest is the fixed node transits through Leo and Aquarius.
Since the South Node represents the past and the North Node the future, this transit signifies
how we must grow from all we have learned from the sign Leo, (where the South Node is), in
order to reach for the lessons of Aquarius (where the North Node is), which will bring us to
understand what this new age is all about.
Leo symbolizes power, grandiose achievements and creative purpose along with the determination
and will to dominate, accomplish great feats and be successful regardless of obstacles. Yet,
as we learn from the I Ching, all things taken to an extreme must ultimately be balanced by their
opposite.
To see this we have to look back a few years to February of 1980 when the North Node went into
Leo for approximately 19 months. This would have started a power cycle that would have
eventually grown to be excessive over 28 years and now has to be corrected by the opposite
cycle.
It is only in the last few years of this cycle, that we are starting to see how too much power
corrupts even the most well intended. If the reason to invade Iraq was to " Shock and Awe"
the world with the excessive use of power, then this was the early warning sign that the need
for world domination was far askew of any moral compass that could possibly guide us toward
the human evolution we so desperately seek.
For all of the goodness that a Leo North Node transit can bring, the assumptive reign over the
will of the masses is a sure sign that the harmony of the heavens has been misinterpreted.
Recently, power abuse, corruption and fraud are showing themselves rampant in government and
business. The Pluto in Capricorn transit (see the January 08 Newsletter), is unearthing all
these problems so that we learn how to stop tolerating power abuse as we make our transition
into the Aquarian Age. During these coming months specifically, we are beginning the new 28
year cycle that the Aquarius North Node transit is starting to show us.
"Change" is the political slogan of the year, and Aquarius is the sign of change! As
corporate America grew larger from the eighties until now, almost every political candidate
and offic-holder has found themselves beholding to lobbyists and special interest groups who
paid their way.
Yet, the Aquarius North Node is against "power bullying" of any kind. Instead, Aquarius speaks
of the people, is considerate of the needs of the downtrodden, the numerous masses that make
up everyday human life on our planet. They too, have a voice that must be heard if man's
humanity to man is ultimately to manifest in the new consciousness of our ever becoming
Aquarian Age.
Aquarius is the sign of friendship. We are to learn to build a universal brotherhood in a
world where we can each care about each other in fairness and open helpfulness, so that
regardless of national borders, and cultural or ethnic differences, we learn to create a world
without prejudice!
This is the idealistic prophecy of Aquarius that we are here to fulfill, so that nations once
enemies can work side by side to solve each other's problems, until the people within these
nations come to realize that we're all one.

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
August 1, 2008
On August 1, when the New Moon in Leo reaches 9'31" it will cover the Leo Sun, forming a total
eclipse, visible in the extremes of the northern hemisphere.
Events associated with eclipses can occur either on or near the eclipse date or the next time a
transiting node reaches the eclipse point. Since total eclipses only occur every few years,
there is not enough data to support accurate predictive theories. In fact, the more we try
to associate specific events with eclipses, the more we are confronted with elusive surprises.
The Titanic eclipse of 1912 is a very good example of this. The disaster actually occurred two
days before the eclipse instead of after it. Although evidence like this adds more unsolved
mysteries to astrology, what we do know is that eclipses, during the period of months and years that
follow them, bring about changes in consciousness.
The August 1st. eclipse is no exception. This is a fixed sign total eclipse. Its ultimate
effect over time is to change the direction of human will. The power of Leo where this
eclipse occurs, must be refocused within the larger framework of the aquarian age, so that
it considers selflessness above ego and helpfulness above power until the evolving consciousness
of our humanity learns how to use power correctly so that nobody is hurt by it and everybody
benefits from it.
Look in your own chart to see what House 9°31' of Leo is in, to see what the area of your life
this eclipse is affecting and what important Karmic lesson you can learn from it.
