ASTROLOGER VIEW: Metamorphasis!

          The exaggerative deceptions that we have seen during the 20 year Pluto in Sagittarius transit finally come to an end when it enters Capricorn, decisively gong forward this time, on Friday, Nov 28th, 2008.

During this last stint when Pluto retrograded back into Sagittarius, we have witnessed Henry Paulson reverse his decision as to how bailout money was to be spent, the big three automakers looking for handouts while owning no less than five corporate jets for their execs to fly on, and the stock market doing backflips with exaggerated volatility the likes of which noone has ever seen before.

As for Paulson's reversal, remember that Pluto, in transiting Sagittarius, irritates the mutability of the sign, pushing it to jump off at the seams in frantically unplanned directions. The automakers, all under the rulership of Sagittarius (the sign that rules transportation, movement and long distance travel) found themselves grilled as to the veracity of their intentions. Remember here too, that Pluto digs into the darkness to find what has to be reformed, and in Sagittarius it would be searching for hidden excesses and vague evasiveness in its quest for truth, as well as the legality (Sagittarius rules the law) and spirit (Sagittarius rules the spirit of attitudes) of intent.

The stockmarket is a story unto itself, as even the slightest hint of more abuse, or indecisiveness on the part of corporate executives (Sagittarius rules excessive larger than life living) or even congress itself (Pluto in Sagittarius rules revolutionary legislation without precedence), would keep destroying the underpinnings of anything resembling confidence.

Where we were used to looking for hope from the sign Sagittarius, we instead find a tearing apart from the grinding, gnawing away of any trustworthiness as Pluto sweeps through every dark corner and hidden alleyway of this Sign as well as our culture as a whole, in its relentless search for reform.

What has really happened during this transit, culminating this week in all its blazen fullness, (remember, you always get the best of a transit when it completes) is a totally new awareness in the public mind (Sagittarius always opens one's eyes to the external environment) of how much incredulity it has been tolerating for seemingly eons.

The world has been punished for its 'enthusiastic apathy', that has allowed fraudulent and deceptive practices (Pluto rules deception in Sagittarius which rules honor) to flourish so flambouantly that it has all but taken over world culture.

There has been a quiet acquiescent acceptance of Plutonian 'evil' in government (Sagittarius rules legislation), and by extension, the corporate environment (Sagittarius when used negatively, rules 'playing fast and loose' with people's trust) that has tarnished our self-respect.

Most people are so ashamed of how they allowed this to happen, that they no longer look at themselves truthfully. They can hardly face their conscience after tolerating how they allowed their government to initiate a deceptive war in Iraq, started under this same Pluto in Sagittarius transit, which rules bombs and explosions (Pluto) in faraway places (Sagittarius).

We might also note that during this time, Pluto has been forming oppositions to every degree of Gemini, rooting out the dichotomous splits, 'two-facedness', and incongrous leading of 'dualistic' lifetyles, that have caused so much difficulties for our civilization. Make no mistake, world consciousness has lost all patience for tolerating dishonesty since this transit!

In a way, Pluto is bringing about a Karmic purging, casting away the excesses of the last administration, the unceaseless spending into unimaginable debt and overwhelming credit problems on all levels, until it is starting to become clear to even the most dim of us, that Karma cannot be avoided, mocked or subtefuged. It is irrefutable and it is the one law above all laws that makes us aware of how important it is for our lives to be in balance.

As Pluto enters Capricorn, we are welcoming a new Administration in America, learning about new Cabinet members and hoping they will be worthy to meet the seemingly insurmountable task before them.

Pluto in Capricorn brings an entirely different view of life. In this Karmic Sign, where scrutiny of anything done with careless wanton abandon will come home to roost, we will see the excesses of the Pluto in Sagittarius transit slowly change to cautions. The masculine sign's tendency towards over abundance (remember 'irrational exhuberance' under this same transit?) will change towards a more cautious approach to life that will constantly test everything before putting building blocks in place.

Capricorn is the 'garbage-eating' mountain goat, struggling to be sure-footed. With Pluto transiting this Sign from Nov 28th on (for about 20 years), all that is not protective and does not lead to ultimate security will get destroyed. Though difficult for those of loose mind, this may be a very good thing, for it will change our civilization from brash over-extensions of egoic attitudes which have lead to how we use credit, to a more slowly, yet solidly put-together future that we can carefully build together.

In fact, the housing crisis first became noticable when Pluto started its transit in Capricorn, forming an opposition to Cancer ( the sign that rules homes) before retrograding back into Sagittarius these many months. Now, as it is ready to enter Capricorn 'for real', we will see some difficult down-to-earth decisions (Capricorn is an earth sign) that will result in sacrifices made through conscience for the sake of building a more reliable world.

The one thing that has been sorely lacking for many years, is "Responsibility." Yet, Capricorn is the sign of Karmic Responsibility. If anything, has made the world suffer, it is its irresponsibility. Under this new transit, we cannot continue to use devious business or trading practices to take advantage of our fellow man and expect our civilization to evolve in any meaningful way.

And, it is meaning in life that we are seeking. The spiritual world we both anticipate and expect can only manifest when we are ready to do the very hard work that brings responsibility into every cause and effect in every life on this planet. Only then will we realize what true pride and honor are really about.

NEW MOON :
November 27, 2008

     On Nov 27th, 2008 at 12:54 pm EST there will be a new moon at 6' Sagittarius. This occurs just one day before Pluto enters Capricorn. As the beginning of a new cycle, this new moon carries with it special significance.

Sagitarius rules the law. We are witnessing the picking of cabinet members in the United States who will have much to say about the new cycle of laws that will be enacted during this administration.

Even more importantly, Sagittarius rules attitudes, beliefs, honorable demeaner, and one's outlook on life. With all the Plutonian changes that are occurring, as we see the old being swept away, this Sagittarius new moon is to give us a very slight if almost imperceptible blinking look at the future.

The reformation of consciousness that Pluto brings about, starts with a reform in conscience. As all the unconscionable practices that have lead this world into such disarray are examined, we begin the long arduous task (Capricorn rules difficult tasks and challenges) that will ultimately bring world respect back.

It is a slow process, because even though the spirit of Sagittarius can sense all that has to be made right, nothing happens until the earth efforts of Capricorn really do the actual work.

Thus, as we look to the future, this Sagittarius new Moon (both Sun and Moon conjunct in the Sign) can help us to start a new cycle with a new attitude, filled with hope (Sagittarius rules hope) and self-honesty (Sagittarius rules honesty) that we can make the efforts to participate in bringing about a better future for our children's children.

As we learn to not only tolerate, but welcome the vast undoing of Pluto as it tears apart everything destructive to our evolvement, we will gradually better understand how the Karmic tapestry of life slowly weaves itself into the fabric of oneness that can eventually better us all.
