NEW MOON: SOLAR ECLIPSE: Jan 26, 2009


This New Moon coincides with an annular (only partial obscuring the Sun) Solar Eclipse on January 26, 2009. This is especially significant as this double-event occurs at 6’30” of Aquarius, the sign of “Changes” at the beginning of the Aquarian Age, as we welcome a new administration into the American consciousness.

Although the time of this eclipse is only from 6:06 GMT to 09:52 GMT on January 26th, the effects of any eclipse are usually far more reaching- often extending several months, and can be unusually sensitive at almost any future time to any other planetary event occurring at the same eclipse point. Thus, how we act and react during this eclipse can easily influence how future transits and aspects over the same degree will affect us.

As a result, we must think of creating good karma during this New Moon and Eclipse double event making this a time of new beginnings toward universal brotherhood and understanding across the world,- a time of reaching out to others and sharing our common problems, ideals and goals, as we help others and let them help us in finding solutions with forward looking vision (Aquarius) to our common problems.

What we start during this time, may well be far-reaching into the future. In this air sign, where the universal ideas of mankind are formulated, we identify with a larger self than our personal self, as we become one with the thread of mankind striving to evolve. This is a time of kindness, generosity, and innovative new vision to take precedence over bemoaning problems we already know exist.

Old patterned ways of doing things will not suffice during this Uranian-ruled time, where eclectic thinking is called for. Notice how the new American administration is made up of individuals from all walks of life, on both sides of the aisle, picked not for their affiliations, but by what knowledge and expertise they have karmically earned.

On personal levels too, this new moon eclipse is a time for us to start new projects that innovate our lives in radically different ways. We may find selfless humanistic ways to reach out to others who need us, join in common goals with our neighbors, friends and communities, and for those of us who have been stuck in the mud, find ways to advance our ability to socially serve mankind so that the entire human race becomes an acceptable part of our impersonal selves.

In the spirit of this new beginning we wish to extend our good wishes for President Obama, and his family and staff, in the hope that we can all work together to build a better world.
