     Jupiter in Pisces brings a new flavor to our Astrology mix for 2010, as it will transit this sign all year before leaving it during the third week of January 2011.

The largest of planets, Jupiter always brings its sense of expansive reach and bigness to whatever sign it is in. As the ruler of Sagittarius, a mutable sign, Jupiter's natural propensity is to help in the process of change. This planet disseminates information and ideas, opens the mind to possibilities never before considered and makes us realize our higher spirit.

In Pisces (also a mutable sign), Jupiter will bring the promise of change in many areas of life. Here we have a Fire planet in a Water sign. The result is steam. Steam accomplishes things by creating movement. As the waters of Pisces become heated by the Fires of Jupiter, the ethereal qualities of life, such as imagination, beliefs, religious and spiritual views can reach boiling point proportions. It is this heating up of the belief systems that brings the soul fibre of people to seek significant changes to the directions their lives are going in..

Although Pisces, being also a feminine sign and the last of the zodiac, usually tends to acquiesce into quiet acceptance of its role as life's absorber, the effect of Jupiter's heat as it moves through this sign agitates this quietness and changes the Piscean intuition until it becomes more receptive to perceive a greater and larger view of the cosmic whole. It is from this Jupiterian expanded vantage point that a very gradual yet observable Neptunian change is finally brought about in the finer and subtle levels of Pisces. It is as if individuals find their senses become retuned to new truths, considerate of different principles and sensitive to transformational spiritual ideals

Yet, whenever change occurs, we must be on our guard for negative unintended consequences as well. Especially in our every-day life, we have to be careful to not be overly receptive to exaggerative promises (Jupiter rules exaggeration while Pisces sacrifices itself for the promise of a new cycle). Emphatic statements which give the appearance of true meaning, but are not based in real spirit (the finer levels of Jupiter), will find their fires dampened quickly, as the Piscean need for spiritual value, will ultimately wash over their pretense with a sea of disillusionment.

Interestingly enough, Governments will have a particularly difficult time during this period because as Jupiter transits Pisces, it is also opposite Virgo, the Sign which rules the governing order. Thus, the need to find precise and detailed guidelines for any ideas that can be effectively earthed into reality is extremely difficut. Instead, sweeping generalizations (Jupiter in Pisces) rule the day.

In fact, Jupiter rules legislation and in Pisces it is opposing Virgo which just happens to rule healthcare. Attempts at making laws in this area of life, may well get muddled in Piscean confusion and watered-down by so much compromise (Pisces rules sacrificial compromises) that in the end, they may not be anything like what the public trust (Jupiter rules trust) was led to believe. The problem is that although Jupiter in Pisces makes it possible to have good spiritual intent to life's problems, the dose of reality needed to apply it is quite another story.

Good intentions often get lost in the larger picture that keeps getting too big to reach a conclusive purpose. This placement will bring much heated debate over many subjects, and the Sagittarius tendency to shoot arrows in many directions as Pisces swirls its watery sea of confusion, ever-changing the subject, finding other nuances, can eventually bring many efforts to dissolution.

The escapist tendencies of Jupiter and Pisces also come into play, as neither the Planet or the Sign likes to be pinned down, confined to definitive concretized details and will often seek avoidance in lieu of committal when presented with difficult choices.

Yet, it is important to note here that every transit works according to Karma. Thus, the same transit is felt differently by the "spiritually ignorant" than the truth-seekers, the disciples and those who honestly seek enlightenment.

Remember, the purpose of Pisces is to dissolve, release and return back to God the sorrows of the earth. Those who follow spiritual pathways will experience a greater sense of forgiveness and a bigger ability to feel tolerance in their dealings with others.

Jupiter rules justice and the law. In Pisces it will become tempered with mercy. Thus, we seek to understand our fellow man rather than to take a punitive stance against him. This is an important step in evolution in order to advance the purpose of our new Aquarian Age, where our consideration for humanity is to be of primary importance.

As civilizations grow up and mature through the ages, mankind slowly develops more of an ability to take charge of human destiny. From past eons of living according to handed-down edicts and unquestioned laws and rules, this new age brings us the chance to throw off the training-wheels and find our own ability to rule our lives civily amongst a humane environment that we create, not because we are forced to, but because it is our human desire to do so.

Jupiter in Pisces is a very ethereal transit. Yet, in the end, it is how we respond to this ethereal quality, that determines the flavor of our existence- as our abilities to imagine, envision and believe keep contributing to the evolvion of our collective human soul.

Change always takes place under mutable signs and planets. The early part of this transit is a time of formulating ideas. The double mutability of the planet and sign reinforces the fact that change is never final. Nothing is. Everything is becoming!

This transit can ultimately result in a great spiritual change in consciousness, if we expand our attitudes and dedicate our promise (Jupiter), towards a more merciful outlook (Pisces) to human causes. With a transformed outlook, mankind actually has the power to bring his civilization out of its isolated darkness.

If we reach out to others, especially those in foreign lands (Jupiter), with the hope and bright expectations for a better tomorrow, and never quit working towards the ultimate promise of our human destiny, it will become possible to slowly eradicate the separatism of souls and nations, replacing them instead with a much larger consciousness of joy and joining in the eternal oneness of our human Soul!

The cold hungry wolves howling in January is the origin of this Full Moon which presents the opposition between the emotional personal will (Leo) and the impersonal will of mankind (Aquarius). This shows us just how much an individual personally effects the world they live in without separating themselves from it.

Both Leo and Aquarius are powerful signs, with Leo ruling sincere feeling and Aquarius ruling universal mind. Thus, the emotional needs of Leo opposite the Aquarian impersonal yet universal way of thinking, presents an interesting tug of war in which both will be brought to light during this moon phase.

On lower levels of Karma, the momentary strength of the Moon in Leo can lead to too much display of pride, personal willpower, and determination to take on too much. This will gradually yield to the will of the masses as the aspect fades and we continue on with our Sun transit through Aquarius until the third week of February.

This fixed sign Full Moon represents decisions that have to be made for the greater good and the impersonal universal causes that bind us all together in common.

The unquestioned leader sacrifices for the will of the group.

The houses in your chart where the Sun in Aquarius and the opposing Moon in Leo fall in will show how this struggle manifests in your own life. Remembering that the full moon always means full illumination, this is an excellent time to grow spiritually by getting a more objective view of your own role within the greater cosmic whole. Every time we can be completely objective, we resolve yet another Karmic lesson by realizing its truth.
